IPL treatment improves the appearance of photoaged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), improves acne, reduces pore size, smoothes the skin's texture and reduces redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called photorejuvenation.
Freckles and Sun Spots
What might be adorable as a child often proves less desirable as an adult. After a few gentle treatments, even the most stubborn freckles simply fade away.
You know those little red lines that appear around the nose or on your cheeks…and stubbornly resist cover-up? IPL treatment can banish them. By delivering broadband light in highly focused pulses, IPL provides pinpoint accuracy to capillary removal that won’t disturb healthy tissue or other blood vessels in the area. Veins disappear. And there’s nothing to show you’ve had anything done, except clearer, younger-looking skin.
If you suffer from the chronic redness and flushing that characterize facial rosacea, you know how aggravating this condition can be, and how it can negatively affect so much of your life. IPL offers a practically painless and long-term solution for rosacea treatment. Results that will not only change how you look…but how you feel.
Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea. Unpronounceable, but thanks to IPL, not untreatable. The facial redness, flushing and visible blood vessels associated with this condition will gradually vanish with targeted IPL treatment. Controlled injury to the blood vessels initiates the body’s natural response to break down and remove damaged tissue. New cells rebuild and replace the problem area with clear, beautiful skin.
What to Expect
During treatment, a gel is spread over the face and IPL is administered in a controlled wavelength tailored to your exact skin type. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating broken blood vessels or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions damaging them. The body's natural processes then remove the injured tissue giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.
Some patients describe the feeling of the IPL as a "snap" (like a rubber band against the skin). Typically there is a small amount of redness and "heat" in the treated area. Patients see results in three to five days, with days one to three being the time with most redness and peeling.
Men should be aware that IPL treatment may cause hair loss in their beard area due to the coarse nature of beard hair. If you want to maintain your full beard, please let the doctor know.
