These SMS Terms explain Apex Dermatology’s text-messaging program and should be read together with the Apex Website Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices.
1. Program Description
Apex Dermatology may send text messages to patients and other individuals who have provided consent through an approved office, website, patient-portal, or other enrollment process. Messages may include appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, treatment-related updates, documents, and patient education.
2. Consent
By providing a mobile number and opting in, you agree to receive SMS messages from Apex Dermatology at that number. Consent is not a condition of receiving medical care, purchasing services, or obtaining an appointment. You may choose other communication methods instead.
3. Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on your appointments and communications with Apex Dermatology. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Apex Dermatology does not control carrier charges.
4. Opt Out and Help
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving SMS messages. Reply START to resume messages after opting out. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact Apex Dermatology at 818-889-2739. After STOP, you may receive a final confirmation message.
5. Privacy
Apex Dermatology does not sell, share, or use SMS opt-in data or consent information for marketing purposes. SMS consent information and mobile numbers are disclosed only to service providers as reasonably necessary to deliver the communications requested, or as required or permitted by law. 6. Security and Medical Information
Text messaging is not guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not send urgent medical concerns, highly sensitive information, or emergency information by text. Call 911 for an emergency. Apex will use reasonable safeguards and follow applicable privacy obligations when sending permitted communications.
7. Carrier Disclaimer
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Changes or Termination
Apex Dermatology may change, suspend, or terminate the SMS program or these Terms when reasonably necessary. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
