For other lasers such as Clear+Brilliant or Fraxel or Erbium, we start by using an anesthetic cream, so you won’t feel too much discomfort during your appointment. Numbing time varies depending on the intensity of treatment. You may feel a prickling sensation and some warmth. Once we start treatment, we typically only need about 30 minutes to complete your procedure, although a larger treatment area will need a longer appointment. For people who want even more relaxation and pain control in a very safe and simple manner, we offer the addition of Pronox breathing treatment. You can drive safely within 10 minutes of the last use.
Stimulating new healthy skin
After intensive laser treatment, you’ll need a few days of downtime, and you may see some redness, a bit of swelling, brief rough texture or skin peeling. You may need up to a week to completely shed unwanted skin cells. Even after that, your results will continue to improve over the coming months.
In addition to resurfacing your skin, laser treatment stimulates the deeper layers that produce collagen and elastin. These proteins naturally support your skin, giving you a smooth, full, more youthful appearance. You’ll be making more collagen in response to laser treatment, giving you an all-natural boost and lift.
To boost the healing and regeneration process, you may be interested in adding microneedling treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to your laser treatment plan. You can add PRP to any resurfacing treatment to build collagen faster and in higher quantities while also speeding the healing process.
